Completed his PhD at Rice in piano performance in May of 2017. He is an accomplished musician who has appeared in solo and collaborative recitals throughout the United States and abroad. He is a graduate of the prestigious Eastman School of Music and renowned Interlochen Arts Academy. He also holds a minor in mathematics from the University of Rochester.
A devoted teacher and mentor, Filip has held collegiate teaching positions at Rice University and at Lone Star College North Harris. Filip maintains a keen interest in the music of Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin and his favorite period in the arts is the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries.
